As I see it after recently installing Windows 11, that OneNote is not included in that installation. I am not sure about Windows 10.
My experiences with OneNote tell me that there are three versions that are supported by Microsoft. I could be wrong.
1. OneNote (paid desktop version) as part of Office 365. OneNote may also be available as a retail product. This is a full featured product that has been identified as Microsoft's future direction.
2. OneNote for Windows 10 (free desktop version). Available from Microsoft Store and other download sources. I call this the Lite version. Some users prefer this version.
3. OneNote Online (available for all Microsoft account users). Accessed from a browser. This is also a Lite version.
All three versions store files on OneDrive and are synced to each other.
