It's exciting to see OneNote will finally get some attention in 2022. In addition to what others have mentioned:
- Please finally give us a control to collapse/expand all pages that have subpages with a single click. OR at least an option to keep them collapsed by default instead of the current expanded by default. Remembering the last state would complete this UX enhancement.
I'm a huge fan of creating top-level pages for topics and turning related pages into subpages under the appropriate topic. I also put these header pages in alphabetical order. This is sooo much better than scrolling through screen after screen of random pages all jumbled together in heavily-used sections. The default behavior force expands ALL subpages which is a direct assault or step backwards against all this careful organization. The ideal UX is to show only the subpages you want to work with!
- Question: Will there eventually be any value-added functionality for Microsoft 365 subscribers compared to the free standalone version of OneNote? If so, I think an ideal strategy would be to give free/standalone users ALL OneNote features and add superior integration with the rest of Microsoft 365 as the premium feature for us subscribers.
