I have given up trying to keep the old Whiteboard working. I have mostly been using OneNote Windows 10 as well. The drawing tools are good and there is the distinct advantage that you get version control and a recycle bin option (incidentally these were the requests made for improving the original Whiteboard ap which seem to have been roundly ignored in favour of creating a competitor product to Miro). Good article on this here: https://mymetaverseday.com/2020/05/12/onenote-or-whiteboard/
I am also very concerned by what I have seen of the OneNote convergence. The Win10 app is lightyears ahead in terms of look, feel and experience across devices but it is the older version they are converging into and I don't like the look of it so far however it is still early days. It looks like they are keeping the desktop app but brining the drawing experience from Win10. Fingers crossed they get this right. I have seen a lot of people using https://explaineverything.com/whiteboard-app/ but it's not so good on Windows (amazing on iOS tho) and for pure whiteboarding I have been using a lightweight app that is growing on me https://scrivanolabs.github.io/
Let's see what happens next!
