appears to be "to destroy Miro as the competition" or "provide the features Miro provides" but we already have Miro and I sure as heck don't use it for Whiteboarding. I can't use the new version of Whiteboard at all now so, top tip, you can pretty much do everything in the Win10 OneNote app with the advantage that you have Note history, can share easily, add other notes. There are many reasons why the OneNote app should have been the feeder of new features into WhiteBoard but now Whiteboard is dead (let's see if it comes back to life) and the Win10 app for OneNote, that replaced the desktop version, is now being retired in favour of the desktop version (which is awful for inking).
I will give them some time to re-think this but I am putting off my Surface upgrade until they do
