What were the software requirements for this new version of Whiteboard?
I can only think that the new version was driven by the desire to have a single codebase across all platforms, and it would only support the lowest subset of functionality that would work across all platforms. Effectively, this cripples the Windows app, which was the most capable and most used version. Perhaps someone should have realized that very few people actually create content on their phones, and that it is OK to provide different interfaces tailored to the capability of the platform and how it is likely to be used. There does not seem to be a problem with the Office apps being less capable on the web and mobile platforms versus the desktop. They are all still useful.
At least we got Reactions...that is a real bonus in a professional setting.
This is very reminiscent of the reaction to the blog "The best version of OneNote on Windows", which had to be walked back. Hopefully, in the end, this version of Whiteboard will be scrapped as well.
