As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance user experiences, we will be retiring the Feed feature (shown in figure 1 below) on the Microsoft 365 app. This change will affect web endpoints (www.microsoft365.com, www.office.com) and the Windows app (“Microsoft 365 (Office)”).

We are committed to ensuring that your existing workflows remain unaffected. Launched in 2022, Feed was designed to help users explore the latest content and team activities. Over time, we have integrated all the essential features of Feed into a more accessible surface within the Microsoft 365 app: the “Recommended” files on the Home tab (shown in figure 2 below).

Deprecation timeline: Feed will no longer be accessible from the Microsoft 365 app starting November 1, 2024.

What about Viva Connections? Is the feed staying there? Any plans to change it or remove it on Viva Connections?

Nakul This feed is also available on the new tab page in Edge for Business, called Work Feed. Will this feed also be retired?

  • Nakul , I would like to suggest more functionality to the Recommended section on the Microsoft 365 Home Tab. The capability to show/hide or collapse/expand the Recommended section is greatly needed for privacy purposes.

What will happen to the New Tab page in Microsoft Edge?  That is where most of our employees experience the feed regularly.

Is this related to the Feed web-part also within SharePoint Online?

This will show the most relevant content for the current user from across Microsoft 365. The feed is personal to each user.

It would be nice to get confirmation if Work Feed is going away in Edge. This is a major selling point for using Edge (the whole one-stop-shop experience when opening a new tab).

Nakul your post only mentions Office.com but I've seen another blog (not Microsoft) that says Feed is being removed everywhere across M365. First, why?!? And second, to suggest a user go to Recommended is a waste. That only shows files not their activity, contacts, etc.

After November 1st, Microsoft Feed will no longer be available in the following apps and services:

    • Feed in Microsoft 365 (previously Office.com)
    • Feed in Microsoft Edge
    • Feed in Outlook Mobile
    • Feed in Microsoft 365 Mobile
    • Feed in Microsoft 365 Windows app

Does anyone know if there is a roadmap task or a message center ticket?
It can not be possible to just announce this via a blog post.

    thanks

  • In my office.com, the feed is not present. My office.com is equal to Figure 2.
    Why is that?
