Microsoftgoodtimo I too am a long time and heavily invested OneNote 2016 user. As said above by Tim Paul , this blog post was abandoned by MS long ago so do the User Voice thing. As a realistic alternative, I highly recommend grabbing the official Microsoft install media that can be found https://support.office.com/en-us/article/onenote-2016-is-missing-after-installing-office-2019-or-office-365-1844ba87-7248-4bd8-a735-66a52f98e6e5?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US. Lock that media in a vault and just keep doing what you are doing forever. If ON16 is working nicely for you now, then just keep on rolling.
Not sure myself who Mike Tolfsen is at Microsoft (Tim - can you share that info?) but I have pretty good luck most of the time assuming a fname.lname@microsoft.com syntax, so give Mike.Tolfsen@microsoft.com a shot, and let us know how that goes on!
