Highly disappointing. Had to recently install Office 365 on my laptop, only to find that now OneNote 2016 didn't install, and that Microsoft are trying to force people onto the OneNote App for Windows 10.
Half of the features I loved about OneNote 2016, and it's predecessors, are missing - or not immediately obvious. Where is the ability to "Print to OneNote" within Windows or "Send to OneNote" from Outlook, expand page, change the layout, dock to desktop etc... If you intend the app to be a replacement for the desktop version, why were these not included from the outset?
I understand that people share notebooks across platforms, I use the OneNote app on my Android phone for example, and have no issues with doing so, but I prefer the desktop programme because it's simply better to use!
This is a massive step backwards, and having looked through the feedback which has been running since April 2018, it's clear that this decision was made too hastily - was there consultation from the users of OneNote as to what we actually want? I don't recall anything asking for my views, and I am willing to bet virtually no one else among the millions of Microsoft OneNote users were asked either. The App is nothing like OneNote 2016, has nowhere near the functionality, and appears that it will never have the functionality. Yes, we can stay using the Decktop 2016 programme, but basically Microsoft are no longer supporting any developments, so it will die as a programme. A real shame
