While I have been a OneNote user, and a cheerleader for the product, since the day that I received the OneNote 2003 Beta Evaluation Kit, I have never been able to use the UWP version, which strikes me as being merely a pale imitation of REAL OneNote -- that is the OneNote 2016 version. The abilities to have local notebooks, to use add-ins such as the indispensable Onetastic, make OneNote a true power tool for organization. Regrettably, Microsoft employees who apparently never use OneNote to any great extent, have elected to drop the power tool, and replace it with the Fisher-Price childrens' toy UWP version. My only recourse, in response to yet another Microsoft failure to support an exceptional product is to drop our subscriptions to Office 365, and adopt Open Office as our standard.
