I think Microsoft could have taken a different approach with this. Perhaps rebranding the full-featured OneNote 2016 as OneNote for Business would have worked (ala Skype and Skype for Biz.) Whether for security, privacy, preference or convenience, many business users choose save notebooks on their own server or locally. Having a tool that offered a choice was one thing that made me a longtime OneNote evangelist. For home use, OneNote UWP is great for keeping notebooks about vacation plans, auto maintenance, etc and I'm glad to have those notebooks in sync across my devices. While the UWP interface is basic, it gets the job done. However, as an IT admin, the robust OneNote 2016 has been an invaluable tool for keeping massive amounts of random information organized... and keeping those notebooks in sync with OUR server is not a requirement, but a preference. No matter how many features MS adds to the UWP, without the ability to store the notebooks where it makes sense for us, the customer, it will no longer be a viable option for many loyal fans.
