I'm sorry, Eric. It really isn't just about privacy laws, which indeed to play a role here. When I refer to legal requirements, there are also NDA, contract specs, and other reasons too, that need to be considered, and this complicates matters. Cloud based storage is not always the best choice. It has to be done on a case by case basis. That is why local saves are so important.
I'm not trying to throw mud at Microsoft. They are doing what they think best for their business, and I am okay with that. What I am saying is that this effectively shuts down the use of OneNote for me. I'm sorry to see that happen, but that is the way of the world, I suppose.
