That does help to know. I'm frustrated that has not been my experience. I'm not the administrator of our company OneDrive system, but it definitely did not work for me. I created the notebooks in OneNote 2010 that came with Office 2010 that I have on my home computer. I loaded them to OneDrive and tried to open with OneNote 2016. The program told me they were being synchronized from the "wrong location" and then moved them to Share Point under our Office365 web location. I then tried to open from there and the notebooks were corrupted beyond repair.
These experiments in trying to move to OneDrive have cost me a couple of days' work. I'm skeptical now that I can keep any file on OneDrive and use it across devices. I'm giving up now and going back to the competitor where things synchronize with zero issues. I won't be using OneDrive for anything but backup storage. I can't trust it. Meanwhile, I will just use the notebooks locally on my work laptop and get back to work.
