Last November, we announced our plan to unify Microsoft Stream and Microsoft Clipchamp to create a seamless video experience in Microsoft 365. This unified platform combines powerful video editing from Clipchamp with enterprise-grade capabilities from Stream—all under the Clipchamp brand.
The brand transition and consolidation of the Microsoft 365 video experience has delivered a modern, and inclusive video platform to Microsoft 365 users. Here’s what enterprise users and admins can expect from the rollout.
Streamlined Clipchamp start page.
One of the first visible changes is the introduction of a unified Clipchamp start page in Microsoft 365. This new experience provides access to all your video content across your work context—from personal edits to meeting recordings and shared videos.
Whether you launch Clipchamp from https://m365.cloud.microsoft/launch/Clipchamp/ or https://m365.cloud.microsoft/launch/stream, you’ll now see the same streamlined experience.
Brand transition and feature updates
The Microsoft Stream brand has been gradually transitioning to Microsoft Clipchamp across all Microsoft 365 video product surfaces. This shift is anchored by the new Clipchamp video hub and includes the following updates:
The video playback and creation
The video player experience has been refreshed to reflect the Clipchamp product brand, including updated visuals such as the name, logo, and a unification banner. Users can now trim and share specific portions of a video as standalone clips. These updates were fully rolled out in late June 2025.
Microsoft 365 Copilot in Clipchamp
The Clipchamp web-based video player experience also includes the brand color updates of Copilot in Clipchamp can help quickly summarize a video or answer your questions about the content in the video. This feature requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license¹.
Other notable product improvements include:
- Camera, Capture and Screen recording: As part of the brand unification from Stream to Clipchamp, we’ve updated the camera, screen recorder, and capture interfaces to reflect the Clipchamp brand. This includes new logos, colors, and a notification banner to inform users of the changes. The rollout began in mid-January and is expected to complete by the end of June 2025.
- Admin control for webcam, screen and audio recording: There are admin controls as part of the functionality of the recording option. Microsoft 365 tenant administrators will see “Stream” settings become “video” settings for disabling webcam, screen and audio recording. The admin controls are currently in development, and we anticipate a four-week window validation of the General availability release to complete rollout by late July 2025. - Outlook and Teams updated embeds: Updated for embedding video in pages changed from “Open in Stream” to “Watch in browser” in the Teams Recap and “Open in browser” in Outlook.
- Video editor export screen: The video export page option for sharing or downloading a video changed from “Publish with Microsoft Stream” to “Watch in browser”
Microsoft 365 video documentation on web pages
As part of the ongoing brand unification between Microsoft Stream and Clipchamp, several updates are being rolled out across Microsoft 365 video documentation and experiences. These changes are designed to simplify navigation and branding while maintaining all existing functionality.
Key updates are expected to be completed by July 2025 that include:
- Support documentation: Microsoft Stream support articles on https://support.microsoft.com have been revised to reflect the unified Clipchamp branding. A newly introduced section will cover the video player, start page, and camera functionalities within the Clipchamp support hub page at Clipchamp help and learning - this update includes appropriate redirection mechanisms to maintain continuity for existing links.
- Learn platform rebranding: The Microsoft Stream collection on https://learn.microsoft.com is rebranded to Clipchamp and the changes of individual articles will be consolidated throughout July.
- Marketing page redirection: The Microsoft Stream page is now redirecting users to the Clipchamp experience at Clipchamp Video Editor | Microsoft 365. The updated page will feature distinct sections for video creation and consumption.
- Microsoft Tech Community blog transition: The Microsoft Stream blog on Tech Community is undergoing rebranding to align with the Clipchamp identity. The rebranded page, content updates, and article reviews will continue through to the end of August 2025.
