We are excited to announce that Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft 365 Advanced Data Residency add-on (ADR) are now available for commercial customers in our new cloud region in Denmark. Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo Capabilities for Denmark will be available soon.
The Advanced Data Residency and Multi-Geo Capabilities add-ons offer customers provisioned in Denmark greater control over the location of their cloud data.
- ADR provides guarantees that certain customer data will be stored at rest (in this case, within Denmark) for several core online services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, Microsoft Defender for Office (Plan 1), Built-in security features for all cloud mailboxes (formerly “Exchange Online Protection”), Microsoft 365 web apps (formerly “Office for the Web”), Viva Connections, and certain Microsoft Purview products.
- Multi-Geo allows customers to configure in which geographies their Microsoft 365 user data is stored at rest on a per-user basis and within a single tenant. Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat are available for Multi-Geo configuration.
This new cloud region will provide artificial intelligence (AI) and other cloud services to contribute to the digital transformation and the development of the AI economy in Denmark.
