RenaMSFT and AnalyMSFT, I have been advocating the use of OneNote for Windows 10 for several years with teachers in my district because it replicates the user experience both in the web and Teams versions. District devices have both versions installed. This deprecation of the OneNote for Windows 10 seems premature in that both the web and Teams version continue to replicate the OneNote for Windows 10 user interface. Additionally, if the user chooses to open OneNote for Windows 10 from either the web version or Teams, it chooses OneNote for Windows 10 over the OneNote Desktop by default.
I understand that my district will be removing OneNote for Windows 10 from the image soon. This means that users (staff and students) who have a reimage or a new device will be presented with a very different user interface when they switch between web or Teams and the OneNote Desktop app. This complicates training and reduces usability. Can I assume that, sometime soon, the web and team experiences will match the OneNote Desktop app? Do you recommend waiting on removal of OneNote for Windows 10 until a consistent OneNote experience exists across web, Teams, and the OneNote Desktop app?
