I absolutely detest the modern comments feature. I want the other one back ("legacy" version?) and permanently.
I do not collaborate in real time with others, therefore I do not need the ability to save my comments before another sees them.
I do not like the extra step I have to take (command-enter) in order for the comment to "take".
I do not like that now I have yet another window/panel/pane open so that my document work is taking up the entire screen—unnecessarily.
I do not like that my comments are no longer interspersed with the track changes. It makes it difficult for the mind to quickly run down the changes and deal with them. (I also detest the "reviewing" pane, but at least can turn that off.)
It is clunky, annoying, and now takes me far longer to do my work.
I suggest that the "modern comments" is a feature that people can choose to turn on or off. There are those of us whose work (editorial) is greatly hindered by this ridiculous "advancement". PLEASE consider allowing people to choose which type they want.
