MicrosoftJude_23: I'm not really aware of any actual fix, personally. They made it so you can opt out of the new style, but made it clear that it's only temporary, so that's not really a fix. That's my opinion/experience, anyway! As for why it's attracting attention again, that's likely because they started rolling it out to "regular channel" (or whatever the correct term is; basically, non-insiders) customers in October. And it's a rollout process, so it doesn't hit for everyone at the same time. Then add in time for people to get frustrated enough to bother making an account and posting a comment, and here you go. So hopefully, whatever you're doing that's making it work well for you will keep on going! Here's hoping. 🙂 But for many of us, we're now stuck with either using a system that works incredibly poorly for us or with turning it off but knowing that we won't be able to keep it turned off forever.
