Hi all,
Seems to work now for me and it is such a relief for my first day back to the office! I am nearly temptedto open a bottle of Champagne tonight (I am French
).
PeterL64 nickhunn DrGMHunt and last but not least @Michael_Heyns and other Microsoft people
in addition to the examples given by others I want to add the example of the preparation of the regional Standards in my Organization (I work for the technical secretariat of an international organization). We work like this
- We issue a draft Standard to our members countries and invite comments.
- We merge the comments (I agree with the comment of nickhunn which is an area where Word could be improved)
- Our Secretariat resolves straightforward comments (normally editorial/formatting) and we also sometimes amend a comment made by a country after consulting them (not all our members master English and we often propose clarifications to their comments). We then share the merged document with first the drafting group which prepared the Standard.
- We resolve most of the comments with this drafting team (normally in visio meetings). All changes should be visible and the rationales and answers to Country comments when they cannot be accepted should also be indicated in a comment box.
- The results are then sent to a Panel of experts who can comment on the changes made. The comments are again merged and the drafting team has a further look at the document.
- When everyone in the Panel/ Drafting Group is happy with the changes made a clean draft is prepared which is sent for another consultation of Member countries.
The new online system is of no use for me and has only slowed down the process as I explained in a previous post in Spring.
BR to all
Françoise
