Wait, what? The @ function results in people being notified, in real time, when they're mentioned?
If so, that is something I need to disable, immediately and permanently.
I work on many documents for many clients, and need to put comments with actions for people to do - lots of comments, lots of people. My clients are going to be very un-delighted if they suddenly start receiving dozens of emails or other notifications.
The whole "post" interaction is nonsense, and adds nothing but extra clicks and effort for no positive benefit.
I do need proofing tools to reach into comments. I need to give the best possible impression and value to my clients, and part of that is having a properly proofed set of comments for them to respond to. Offline. At their own pleasure.
