Introducing Modern Comments in Microsoft Word

• Concern that comments created Modern comments are not backwards compatible – We want to ensure you are aware that any comment created with Modern comments can be consumed and interacted with by users on earlier or non-M365 versions of Word and vice versa. 

Katie Sullivan this is not news I want. Backwards compatible? NO! I want rid of this thing. If I return to an earlier version of Word, I do not want this thing following me, stalking me, haunting my working life for the rest of time! 

When will you be offering a toggle back to the most efficient, economical, working version of comments?

Martin_B_MBF you hit the nail on the head referring to muscle memory and having to take  hands off the keyboard. When editing and making many comments per page, this extra step of 'starting a conversation' is painfully time consuming and inefficient. Even teaching my fingers to do some new acrobatics won't make me hate this abomination of an 'innovation' any less.

Please, Microsoft, stop torturing me and give this up for a lost cause!
