I design climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction projects for the least developed countries in the world as my job (which I love doing). I use office365 to do my work because I can work across platforms and access documents while travelling, which, prior to covid, I did about 4 months a year (for work). I rarely if ever work "collaboratively" online because most of the world doesn't operate that way because of technological constraints. So we exchange documents and comment on them.
We work on small screens in airplanes, in beat-up buses, wherever we can. The old version of comments works fine.
But now, if you were to ask me my opinion on what the biggest obstacle to helping the poorest of the poor in the world adapt to climate change and disaster is, I would tell you that it is microsoft, and I would only halfway be joking.
This "innovation" has had a pretty significant ripple effect.
