robinwak I'm glad Microsoft is listening to this board, but based on the updates outlined in the blog, it's not addressing the what people want, which is a rollback to the previous version of comments, which everybody was happy with. Not one person on this entire board has said they wanted "modern comments," nor have they expressed satisfaction with a single change.
The easiest fix is to simply roll it back.
In the unlikely event that Microsoft does the right thing, please add two more extremely important fixes to the list:
1. When searching for a comment in the navigation bar, Word zooms out to 68%. If the thesaurus bar is open, it zooms out to 57%. This renders the visibility useless, and then you have to zoom back in to be able to read the document. It's an efficiency drain and nuisance.
2. In the previous version of comments, comments were included with red-line changes so that if you simply click next (for changes), you'll see the red-line or the next comment. In modern comments, they've been separated, so that you have to do two separate searches. Given that comments may be associated to a red-line change, it's critical that clicking next for changes goes to both the change or the comment.
