@DrGMHunt re: Feedback-Hub: I figured it out. My app had not been updated in a while, and apparently the older version automatically managed feedback strictly isolated by region/language. After updating the app, I now can search feedback separately in either my system language or English, and can set new feedback to be labelled as either/or. My previous feedback, of course written in English but automatically mislabelled, seems to haunt the German language section... I also found your feedback now being able to search in English, but it seems the update also removed the ability to upvote and it is only possible to comment or somehow aggregate similar feedback – which it seems has to be done by first reading similar feedback and hitting the “add feedback” button, then writing your own addition. Of course, it would make more sense to also be able to link up feedback you already have written (there are now 4 separate entries about “modern comments”), but as so many other things MS touches these days nothing seems to make much sense anymore. After another look, it also occurred to me that the reason we cannot upvote is because we submitted a “problem” (which it undoubtedly is) rather than a “feature suggestion”, and upvoting seems restricted to the latter.
I therefore tried to resubmit my report again or rather additionally as a “suggestion”, asking for the “feature” of being able to turn their disruptive shenanigans off again/switch back... If they insist on playing stupid games with semantics, I can do that all day.
I submitted it as: Word 365 Desktop "Modern Comments" need an option to switch to “classic view”
