MicrosoftModern Comments is absolutely, hands down, one the worst “updates” Microsoft has foisted off on its users in years. Not all of us collaborate in real time and don’t want to “publish” comments. We want the option to return to the previous version of Track Changes that are a part of so many of our established work processes.
This is yet another example your your tech folks giving users what y’all THINK we want instead of asking people outside the Silicon Valley bubble, people who actually use the program on a daily basis for other purposes, how we would feel about changes. Y’all just think you have to make changes for the sake of change and it really pisses me off.
I hate this update so much. The pace of my work progress has slowed to a crawl, the space on my screen is used inefficiently, it’s visually unattractive, and worst of all? I can’t even use my long established autocorrects so I am worried that my habitual time saving habits will result in gibberish being sent to a customer if I miss one in a stupid locked comment bubble! Y’all so totally whiffed on this one. It is simply horrific. Just give us our Track Changes back.
