DVM-ELS thank you for pointing out the contradiction. That will be corrected. One of the reasons you might still be getting the error you mention is because of certain limitations beyond it just being a .vsd file. Those limitations (apart from file type being .vsd) are mentioned in this support article - Limitations to file editing in Visio for the web - Microsoft Support.
