Hi, Office Insiders, I’m Emi Ristani, a Program Manager at Microsoft. I’m here to share that you can now use voice commands on your Android device to make calls.

Voice commands

Give your thumbs a break and use voice commands to speed up everyday tasks such as initiating a call.

How it works

  1. Tap the microphone in the search bar.
  2. Say “Call Anna" or "Call Anna on Teams” and Outlook will place you a tap away from making that call.
    Use Voice commands

Requirements

Available for eligible accounts in English in the United States.

Availability

This feature is available to Android Insiders running Build 16.0.13801.20004 or later.

We typically release features over some time to ensure that things are working smoothly. This is true for Insiders as well. We highlight features that you may not have because they’re slowly releasing to larger numbers of Insiders. Sometimes we remove elements to further improve them based on your feedback. Though this is rare, we also reserve the option to pull a feature entirely out of the product, even if you, as Insiders, have had the opportunity to try them.

Feedback

We want to hear from you! If you have any feedback or suggestions tap Settings > Help & Feedback, in Outlook on Android and then tap Tell Us What You Like, or Tell Us What Can Be Better
