MicrosoftRob_Nunez TinaChen The new experience looks nice but the new Publish feature is not working for organizations with many intranet sites which all have their own templates. It used to be that when you are in a specific site and clicked the + icon the App Bar, the template gallery would only show templates for that site. Now when you click Publish > Create > Page, you get to see a selection of templates from different sites, not necessarily even from the site you are on. And for content editors for a specific site (e.g. a department) it is very unclear what 'their' templates are and they can very easily pick the wrong template (from another site). Most often the templates for the current site are not even displayed in the gallery, but just templates from other sites.
We are a M365 consultancy and we see this is causing challenges for all our customers where this feature is enabled. We need to provide workarounds, e.g. by giving them direct links to the template gallery screen for each site. It seems this was not thought our very well and hopefully you can forward this to the product team.
As an example, if I start in a site called 'Guidelines' (/sites/guidelines) and click Publish > Create > Page, I get below templates. None of these are the page template for the Guidelines site.
When I use the New option in the page menu bar (which we cannot promote as a workaround because not all editors see this menu bar), you see we get the "Saved on this site" screen with the correct template:
We hope this can get some attention and can be resolved.
