Hello, Insiders! My name is Shania Rasheed Nalagath, and I’m a Product Manager on the Customer Success team. I am thrilled to introduce a new feature for admins that ensures you have full control over your organization’s data when providing feedback on behalf of users.
Enhanced data control while submitting Microsoft 365 Copilot feedback
As an admin, you play a pivotal role in setting the tone for how your organization adopts and benefits from new technologies. Microsoft 365 Copilot, our advanced AI assistant across Microsoft 365 apps and services, has the potential to reshape the way your teams collaborate, create content, and communicate – but it needs your input and expertise to reach its full potential. With the new Copilot diagnostic logs feature, admins can choose what data they share with Microsoft when submitting feedback on Copilot responses and interactions for themselves or internal parties, ensuring sensitive and confidential information is protected.
How it works
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and sign in with your global admin or AI administrator credentials.
- Select Copilot on the left navigation panel, then Settings > Copilot diagnostic logs.
- To collect the chat logs you’d like to submit for feedback, enter up to five user emails, the Microsoft 365 Copilot product related to the feedback, the number of conversations to include in the logs (you can include up to 30), and a date range (must be within 30 days). Then, click Next.
- You’ll then have the option to review the chat logs before submitting them to Microsoft.
- Review the available chat log prompt-response pairs. You can search using keywords, or scroll through the list. Hover over each pair to view the full prompt-response. Select or deselect specific pairs to include in the feedback.
- Choose a reason for submitting the logs, or type your feedback into the text box.
- Hit Submit. You can view your submitted feedback under the Product feedback section in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Here’s a full tutorial of how this new feature works:
Scenarios to try
Try out these scenarios for addressing Copilot issues in the Microsoft 365 admin center:
- Submit feedback on behalf of the C-suite within your company: If an executive or C-suite leader reaches out to you to submit feedback on Copilot, you can collect and review their chat logs and omit any sensitive information before submitting them to Microsoft.
- Submit feedback on behalf of users: Especially when one or several employees don’t have the ability to submit user-level feedback, this feature enables you, the admin, to gather their chat logs, select the logs that are safe to share with Microsoft, and submit feedback for the individuals.
Requirements
To submit admin-initiated feedback on Copilot, you must have the following:
- a Microsoft 365 subscription with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license
- a global admin or AI administrator role (you can learn more here)
- all email addresses of the users who experienced the issue with Microsoft 365 Copilot
Availability
This capability is currently available to all customers with a valid Microsoft 365 Copilot license within the Microsoft 365 admin center.
