What’s New in Microsoft 365 Copilot | January 2026

Question about the non-licensed Copilot users to the Agent Mode in Excel/Word/PPT, as stated in the release here:

• For Copilot Chat users without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?id=543241, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?id=543242, and https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?id=548646 are rolling out in February.

There was a previous update (in September) on non-licensed users being able to access Copilot Chat directly in Excel/Word/PPT to work in the context of the currently opened file, which was meant to be already released. Our company is based in the EU and it's not the case for us currently, is there anything we need to enable to get this feature, or maybe it's still rolling out across tenants?
