Hi everyone! I have a personal update for this week’s blog. This year, I completed my part-time master’s program while working as a Senior Copilot Product Marketing Manager. Balancing life, classes, and work—with the launch of Microsoft 365 Copilot—was challenging, but effective time management helped me get through it all. A significant reason I managed my time at work so well was my early access to the product. Naturally, my classmates were curious about how to get Copilot at their workplaces, and I often found myself guiding them through their company’s procurement process.
Thankfully, now I have a different response. Starting last month, Copilot is available for self-service purchase. This means qualifying users can simply buy Copilot for their existing plan using their credit card. To do so, users just need to click on “Add Copilot to your Microsoft plan” on the Microsoft 365 Copilot product page. They will get all the amazing benefits of using an AI assistant at work!
Are you wondering how that works? Here are the key things you should know:
- Cost: Microsoft 365 Copilot is $30 per user/month with an annual subscription paid upfront.
- Pre-requisites: Self-service purchasing is enabled by default for users with a qualifying base license. Currently, qualifying licenses for self-service include Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard, or Premium.
- License Management: Microsoft 365 admins are notified of purchases and can view/manage all purchases made in their organization in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Admins can also turn off self-service purchase on a per-product basis. Learn more about license management.
As more of you get started with Copilot at work, below are some examples of how I use it to manage my work:
Communications Management
Copilot helps me organize emails, chats, and meetings quickly, ensuring I stay on top of my communication without spending too much time on it.
Meeting Summaries
After each meeting, Copilot in Teams provides concise summaries and action items, which saved me hours of notetaking and follow-up.
Document Drafting
With Copilot in Word, I can now simply invoke files, meetings, or emails to get past the writer’s block.
I hope this was helpful, and by the way, I wrote this blog with the assistance of Copilot. If you want to do the same, you can get started now through self-service!
