This article is now over a month old, but I urgently need clarification on a breaking change that appears to affect both existing and historical Copilot Notebooks.
Until three days ago, I was actively working in Copilot Notebooks that I’ve relied on for project work over the past three months. Without warning, all my notebooks became inaccessible in their original working view.
They still appear as links in my Library, but clicking any of them now opens only a Notebook Overview page. The interactive experience described in this article—persistent chat, references, and the unified workspace—is no longer available for any of my notebooks.
After investigating, it appears the UX and UI have changed not only for newly created notebooks, but have also been retroactively applied to existing ones. If this is the case, it represents a significant breaking change to established workflows.
I need a clear answer to the following:
- Has the Copilot Notebooks experience described in this article been deprecated or replaced?
- Were existing notebooks intentionally migrated to a new, reduced experience?
- If the full notebook functionality still exists, what is the correct way to access it today?
At present, there appears to be no supported path to recover the original working view of existing notebooks. This has disrupted active project work and undermines confidence in using Copilot Notebooks for long‑running initiatives.
Clear guidance—or confirmation of a regression—is urgently needed.
