Great article, BUT....

What happened to the IntuneMDMAgent log file with macOS 15? I have a bunch of macOS devices managed by Intune and I can't find the IntuneMDMAgent log file under ~/Library/Logs/Microsoft/Intune anymore.

    Hi beazer

    Glad to hear that you like the article, and we'd love to help with the issues you are facing.

    To start off, can you DM us a screenshot of what you are able to see within /Library/Logs/Microsoft/Intune and verify that the processes are running?

    And can you confirm the transaction logs are working as expected?

    Thanks!

    Intune Support Team

      <Edit>
      Sorry I didn't saw that you want a screenshot from the system logs not from the user folder. But there currently just 3 IntuneMDMDaemon 2025-xx-xx*.log files.
      </Edit>

      If there were a folder I could screenshot, I would — but it’s not just the IntuneMDMAgent*.log file that’s missing. The entire Microsoft folder under the user’s ~/Library/Logs/ directory is absent, meaning the ~/Library/Logs/Microsoft/Intunepath doesn’t exist at all.

      The Microsoft Intune Agent is installed at /Library/Intune, and this issue isn’t isolated — we’ve seen it on around 40 devices. I even performed a fresh installation yesterday, and the folder was missing from the very beginning.

      Despite this, Intune scripts are still executing successfully.

      Others are reporting the same issue:

      • Microsoft Q&A thread:
      • https://learn.microsoft.com/en-sg/answers/questions/2200680/where-are-intunemdmagent*-log-files-on-macos-15
      • There’s also at least one post in the LinkedIn MacAdmins Group, where I raised the question. One response confirmed they’re also not seeing any Agent logs on macOS 15.

        Hi,

        Thanks for the info, and sharing the findings we've requested.

        So we can continue a more constructive investigation into the issues you are facing, can you DM us the following please:

        • Confirm if you are able to extract the logs from Microsoft Intune portal?
        • Confirm if Company Portal is available on the device and can initiate a sync?
        • Do you have at least one shell script assigned to the affected devices: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/intune/intune-service/apps/lob-apps-macos-agent#how-is-the-agent-installed
        • Do you have an open support case for this issue?

        Keep us posted!

        Thanks!
