New look for Intune Company Portal app for Windows

Pretty. But I would have preferred it handled installing/retrying to install apps better.

Sounds like a UI refresh which is fine but I'm hoping you will eventually fix things like - detection of previously installed apps and displaying the 'Uninstall' button without having to press 'install', close CP and open it again press F5 a few times etc.. just to get the uninstall option even though the app was already installed.

What's the point of this change?

This design just waste more screen space with it's unnecessarily large padding.

I'm sure that it will increase app's loading time and resources usage.

We need features that Company Portal is still missing - not pointless visual redesign.

Why don't Microsoft add option to "retry" installation of apps assigned as "required"? It will be nice to be able manually trigger that.

Why don't Microsoft fix issue that makes user-triggered installation stucked on "Download  pending. Your device is syncing..." while the sync process is not running? It won't go any further until you press the "Sync" button in settings tab.

Why don't Microsoft add any option to quickly display IME logs when installation failed?

Another useless change that's completly missing customer's needs.

I do not like the Company Portal UI at all. This one is hardly much better.
Notifications on home page should be visible, not a button. Users won't press the button.
There is loads of white space, and only room for 3,4,5 apps - we have over 100 apps, this UI is not helpful.
If the device is not complaint, this should be IN YOUR FACE on page 1, not hidden away in another tab.

More importantly, make it functional. It needs to be less laggy. If app install fails, it says "failed". I press "Retry", the status updates to "failed". Then after at least 10 seconds it updates to tell you its installing. By this point user has pressed Retry a dozen times.

CM App Catalog had a better name, better features, better UI, and mostly worked. CP has been a huge regression, and this visual refresh does not change any of that.

This was a priority?

I'm noticing that images are a bit over-sharpened for some reason... like the profile pictures and app pictures. Hope this can be corrected.

Also, as others have said, although the new lipstick is a pretty shade of color, Company Portal is still a bit of a pig in the functionality department. Hopefully someone will start listening to customer feedback and start working on functional improvements. And no, that doesn't mean Copilot nonsense. Seems to be difficulty getting things working with real intelligence, so it's hard to trust any of the artificial intelligence stuff.

Agree with Yournicknamehere -- we need functionality changes like allowing install or retry for Required apps -- why not allow that?  If the Required app hasn't appeared yet, allow the end user to pull it on demand, not wait some indeterminate amount of time to show up.  We also see confusion when "Download Pending" is shown during the installation, or some spinning is going on -- and it's not clear when the app will come down.  Some users see this for long periods of time -- why not detect this behavior, restart the IME service or Company Portal itself, and have a simple method to gather the logs for IT admins.  Actually - just upload the logs to the Device Diagnostics blade under the Intune device.  Please do things to make IT admins life easier -- with a focus on self-service for the end user, and automatic upload of logs.  

I agree with Gavin Crawshaw as well... seeing "Company Portal          LOGO   COMPANY NAME" squeezed between a giant search box is a bit much. Maybe just remove the Company Portal title along with the big gap... we know it's company portal... we had to click the icon called Company Portal to get into it.

It's a shame to see that the option “Automatically send usage data to Microsoft” is still opt-out instead of opt-in.

It still feels somewhat that Company Portal is a tool directed to IT and not an entirely pleasant, smooth experience for end-users...

Also: how about incorporating Copilot into it as a helpful virtual assistant e.g. "How can I help?"
