Announcing general availability of FSLogix 2210 hotfix 1!

We are pleased to announce the general availability of FSLogix 2210 hotfix 1 (2.9.8440.42104). Huge thank you to the community of customers who have opted into our Early Release Preview list.  These testers helped to ensure the fixes listed in our known issues page were resolved.

 

What's new in FSLogix 2210 hotfix 1?

During the release of 2210 GA, our team posted in the known issues page the significant change to how we were addressing identity roaming. We quickly heard from the community and our customers that this was a big problem. We quickly partnered with our identity team and created a configuration setting to re-enable this roaming behavior while a more long-term approach is evaluated.

 

Additionally, three (3) other issues which were not discovered in our previews became hot topics on social media and through our support channels. We've confirmed these issues are resolved and added a variety of other fixes.

    Hi. June 13, 2023—KB5027222 (OS Build 17763.4499)
    This update addresses an issue that affects the Appx State Repository. When you remove a user profile, the cleanup is incomplete. Because of this, its database grows as time passes. This growth might cause delays when users sign in to multi-user environments like FSLogix.

    Can you explain what fixes this update ? Does it fix your eternal problem of local_ folders freezing ?

    robzlr we have the same issue with the three-minute timeout during disk compaction. The compact script runs fine on the VHDX files outside of FSLogix so it's something with how it's implemented into this version. We opened a Microsoft case last week. Did you open up one as well?

     

    Jason_Parker Have you seen this issue? Size of the disk doesn't matter.

    Are there any known issues with this hotfix?  We are using Windows 10 AVD.

    We updated to this latest version. We implemented both of the registry entries (we use split profile and ODFC drives) to allow for the "WAM identity roaming" but users continue to get Outlook password prompts that quickly disappear and leave Outlook in the "need password" state. The only solution we currently have is to remove the second RDS server.

    We have been looking forward to this release after rolling 2210 back. But having deployed this in our VDI Test environment have some concerns. We use Cloud Cache and have been experiencing three minute semaphore timeouts which look similar to what was reported here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/fslogix-blog/announcing-general-availability-of-fslogix-2210-hotfix-1/ba-p/3758661. Is this timeout configurable?

     

    I have also read https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fslogix/troubleshooting-vhd-disk-compaction#how-does-disk-compaction-work-with-cloud-cache which implies that the container is downloaded *again* at logoff (after downloading at logon) and then compaction is attempted prior to upload to a provider.

    Is my understanding correct?

     This version causes very high CPU usage. The System process bloats with each new connection

    This version appears to break Google Chrome in our environment using VMware Horizon instant clones and AppVolumes. Chrome is applied through appvolumes (virtual disk) and with this version of FSlogix the Chrome application will not launch. I'm also unable to do an "application capture" of Chrome on a machine where this version is installed, even with no FSlogix profile attached. I also tested with a fresh FSlogix profile, no difference.

    Are you going to change the latest URL to this Version, or is it not intended to Replace the Latest Release?
