Hi NedPyle, thanks for the informative blog post. We are looking to implement this to replace DFS-R. I've had a good read through the documentation, but I'm a bit unsure with one part.
In the documentation is states "Storage Replica supports file-based backups. Storage Replica doesn't support block-based backup and restore.": https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/storage-replica/storage-replica-frequently-asked-questions#what-are-my-backup-and-restore-options-for-replicated-volumes-
Is this just relating to the destination data volumes, or does this apply to the source volumes too?
I'm aware we cannot take snapshots or backups of the log volumes as this will interfere with Storage replica.
Our backup system does take block based backups, so just need to be sure we can back up SR before we implement it.
