I just built a lab with Supermicro servers and 4 Intel D3-S4510 in each node, connected to the SATA Ports, I use the Intel RST driver. Before enabling S2D, the disks are stated as power protected and cache was enabled, too. After enabling S2d, write cache is disabled for all Intel drives in the pool.
IsPowerProtected : false
IsDeviceCacheEnabled : false
Enabling S2D works without reg hack and the cluster starts without problems (I used it in the beginning, because a CU was still missing on my W2019 servers, but later on I removed it), everything seemed to be OK, every driver is signed.
The SSDs are certified for S2D with Server 2019, I checked this before.
So the question now is, where is the error? How I can enable write cache/power protection for the S2D pool?
