Hi I'd like to bump this thread and chime in here to say this is not a bogus event or at least it is pointing to something that isn't. Very frustrating problem, I cannot use wired ethernet (~500mb/s connection) at my home office and have to fall back to Wifi (~90mb/s) because of this.
Every time I lose connectivity I see this in Event Viewer:
The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{BB82CBEF-FFF2-4F92-A492-55B88B1939E8} because another computer on the network has the same name. The server could not start.
The InstanceID reference will alternate at random between my Wifi adapter and Lenovo USB ethernet adapter (Lenovo USB-C dock).
Some history:
1 - for a long stretch of time I used a wired ethernet connection via a generic USB ethernet adapter/hub connected to a StarTech USB hub connected to my LG monitor which was connected to my Lenovo ThinkPad laptop via Thunderbolt, never any issues, solid connection and speeds
2 - I'm adding a second monitor and decided to purchase a Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C dock to replace the ethernet and StarTech hubs
3- Wired ethernet connection to the Lenovo dock frequently at random, drops out, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes
4 - Disconnecting the ethernet from the dock and adding back the generic USB ethernet adapter, directly connected to the laptop, now I see the same behavior with that device, which had no issues beforehand
5 - No connection issues for any other device in my house, wired or otherwise, falling back to Wifi on the laptop I have no issue staying connected
6 - Things done to troubleshoot: 1) re-terminated my ethernet cable to my office, 2) performed network connection troubleshooting, 3) reset the winsock, 4) removed a number of hidden USB devices and ethernet devices in Device Manager, 5) changed the name of the computer. Nothing worked.
