I was able to resolve the issue. Here are the actions I ended up taking:
- I had two instances of an HP Office Jet Pro 8710 installed. One of which was a "networked version". I removed both and reinstalled one instance - not "networked".
- Disabled NetBIOS.
- Told Windows to forget all networks other than the one I have for the house.
- Set the Network Adapter>Advanced Property Roaming Aggressiveness to the Value "1. Lowest".
I suspect the original issue was tied into the networked printer and Netbios. After I took the first two actions I got rid of the 2505 issue, but was still getting some disconnect/reconnect events. Taking the last two actions seems to have solved that problem. I looked into the roaming issue. It seemed to me that even if the system had remembered other networks, when it was connected to one why would it think it should disconnect and look for others? The explanations were along the lines of: this is the way it is. So I did the forget other networks action.
