Pictures have always been an important part of Excel spreadsheets, adding color and visualization to the data workbooks. Today, we’re excited to announce a new way to use pictures, as in-cell objects...
Jamies666 That work around method is clumsy, it really shouldn't be that difficult, especially as Excel, and Microsoft365 as a whole is still heavily targeted at home, family users.
The ability to insert images over cells in the spreadsheet is already there, regardless of how big or small the images are, right now, it's up to the user to use whatever images they like. The size of the images shouldn't make a difference to include the ability to insert an image within a cell.
The way it's done in 'Sheets' is exactly how we should be able to do it in Excel, 'Insert Image in cell' or 'Insert Image over cells'.
Inserting an image in an unchanged cell can then be referenced in larger or merged cells extremely quickly and easily like below example with '=C1' in the merged cell. The image automatically fits the cells without any manipulation.
I just hope this is included soon, as it would be immensely helpful for myself and I'm sure many others.
