Chris_Gross, I think one problem is that not everyone is seeing the same font that you are advertising above. My enterprise Excel recently changed the formula bar font and it is HORRIBLE. I HATE IT. It DOES NOT look like what you advertised in your post above. It looks like what adam990 posted. Which is NOT a fixed width font!!!
What I have found is that my File > Options > General > default font setting affects the formula bar. It has been set to "Body Font" (for years, I assume) and I never had to think about it, because it was not hard to read or work with (whatever it was before). After this change, something weird is happening. When I first open Excel, I think I am now seeing Aptos in the formula bar. Regular old (actually brand new). Aptos. It looks... okay. Then I click the formula bar to make a change and all the character spacing goes to hell (like Baby Plush screenshot above). I don't know what font this is now but it is practically unusable.
If I change the default font to something specific (Arial, Consolas, Aptos, etc.) , then restart Excel, I get that font in the formula bar, and (important to note) IT DOESN'T CHANGE to something else when I click to edit it.
Now, I just want to know: what was the old formula bar font? Because I was used to it and it was fine (for me) both for formulas and large blocks of text. And my *new upgraded* formula bar font is not what was advertised above, so I just need to know the old font so I can switch it back. Was it Calibri? Yeah, I think that looks right...
