Unlike you I can see no conceivable value in the function. Once we are duly enabled, I would be interested to learn of the use to which you put the new function. You mention TRIMRANGE as a potential improvement to TOCOL. For me, the primary used of TOCOL is for array shaping, reducing a 2D representation of an array to a 1D (nested) representation. I assume you have the alternative use
= TOCOL(range, 1, TRUE)of removing blanks from less structured data in mind? In any case, I am interested and open to learning when the opportunity arises.
