liamr25 pdxtony +Others, Your requests are very valid. Thanks for sharing the other companies providing dividend data to you. I would love to say definitively that we will or won't provide dividend data in Excel in the future, but the truth is I don't know the answer to that. I know that we do revisit the conversation frequently, and take your requests to heart. Dividend data (now including Dividend History) is our top request from customers, followed by more international market support, followed by (now that we have StockHistory) popular index fund history support. The reason we don't provide all these right now is a relatively boring one, they cost extra beyond what we have already paid and agreed to license. There is a lot Excel can give input into for these license agreements, but you can imagine the complexities that are involved we have when money comes into play. I hope that statement doesn't come across as dismissive to your request, or passing blame somewhere else.
For now keep making requests and get everyone to vote at UserVoice.com Add Dividend Data to Stock Data Type – Welcome to Excel’s Suggestion Box! (uservoice.com)
Also keep discussion happening, any questions or problems you all run into, this is a good forum to get my attention, and I will try to address them.
