Editor’s Note: 12.26.2023: We have updated this post to clarify the DST dates and what happens if the recommended updates are not installed.
In the month of May 2023, our internal Customer Support team reported an error, which was affecting Daylight Saving Time (DST) in Israel for events that were scheduled for March 2024 and onwards. This was resulting in the meeting times in Israel being off by one hour. On further investigation, it was realized that it was happening due to a missing registry in one of the internal systems.
To ensure that this issue is proactively resolved, Microsoft released the Windows updates listed below to account for the correct DST changes:
- Daylight Saving Time in Israel will start on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:00:00 AM local standard time.
- The clocks will be turned forward one hour to 3:00:00 AM local daylight time.
- Daylight Saving Time in Israel will end on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 2:00:00 AM local daylight time.
- The clocks will be turned backward one hour to 1:00:00 AM local standard time.
This change is available in the August 2023 Cumulative Update preview released on August 22, 2023, for the 20H2 and the newer versions of Windows 10 and 11. All other supported Windows versions received the update as part of the September 2023 monthly quality update scheduled to release on September 12, 2023.
Note: If you don’t install these Windows updates released in August 2023 and September 2023, you will not see the correct time change schedule.
