Can you tell me if the original SMS 2003 scan tools will also detect the DST patch?

Q: We are running SMS 2003 sp1 with the original Security Update Scan Tool. I was said in Microsoft's Tuesday DST webcast that the ITMU scanner would detect the DST patch.  Can you tell me if the original SMS 2003 scan tools will also detect the DST patch?
A: if the scanner scans using the WSUS based catalog, it can detect the patches.
