MicrosoftBased on our experience with the previous LTS releases (Azure CLI 2.66.x and Azure PowerShell 12.x), we have identified limitations in how the current LTS model serves the diverse needs of our customers.
To ensure we continue to provide secure, reliable, and predictable tooling, we are reassessing the role and structure of LTS releases for Azure command‑line tools. As part of this evaluation, the existing LTS designation will be retired while we work on a refined long‑term support strategy.
During this period, Azure CLI and Azure PowerShell will continue to follow their published support and lifecycle policies. Customers are encouraged to reference Azure CLI lifecycle and support for the most up‑to‑date guidance on supported versions and upgrade planning.
