Azure Synapse Analytics November Update 2022

Global parameters are still not available despite it being an important missing feature. At the moment we can only keep track of global parameters via external files, which is a headache when considering proper branching and deployments. Synapse serverless pools  have also not seen any tangible improvements in a very long while. T-SQL combined with serverless pools is a great tool to perform all the transformations needed in a fast and cheap way. It also has the advantage of not having a spin-up time, which means we can perform multiple transformations without any issue. However, the lack of DELTA features (and I don't mean the ability to read DELTA) makes it a chore to use. We really would like to see more improvements into these missing core features.
