When is Microsoft releasing this to general availability for Next-gen General Purpose service tier - Azure SQL Managed Instance?

We are very constrained by having limited 100 databases on one server . With Next Gen we can accommodate 500 databases per server . This is very crucial to get a timeline for release. Why is Microsoft not committing to a release date?
