SQL is indeed very powerful and with JSON support it is great but Azure SQL still has size limitations and this really defeats the purpose of using it for IOT data.

 

Even if I consider example from this case, I will consume all 25 TB in a columnstored indexed table and then I might have needs to have few more tables where some aggregated data is stored.

 

Azure SQL size limitation is currently a big pain as we do not want to purge any data. Any solutions to this problem?
