According to the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/system-dynamic-management-views/sys-dm-os-volume-stats-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver15#table-returned, the column total_bytes returns the "Total size in bytes of the volume".
However, in your scripts, you're using total_bytes+available_bytes in order to calculate "TotalGB", and using "total_bytes" to calculate "UsedGB".
What are we supposed to understand from this?
That in an on-premise SQL, the "total_bytes" column represents the total size of the volume, while in Managed Instance, the same column represents the space used?
