Thanks for your coment here! Unfortunately, I don't have ETA when this option will be available, but, I would like to suggest to write a suggestion in our feedback blog . However, I would like to ask, if you could try the option of Azure SQL Managed Instance, with this option, you could run cross database queries within same instance, using linked server to connect to other SQL Servers, MI or Azure SQL Databases.
